In the evening Grandpa took Danny into his office and showed him the terrestrial globe. Danny has seen it before from the distance, but he never looked at the oceans and land closely. Grandpa pointed to the space on the globe and said, “Here is the place where you live.” Danny was surprised that there was their big house and the whole city in a small globe like that.

Grandpa was laughing, but he explained,

“The globe is a model of our Earth, the same as your little cars are models of large and real automobiles.

Our planet Earth is huge, many times larger than the globe. You and all our family and many more people live there…Now, brush your teeth and get ready for bed.

Danny was tired, he stopped asking questions and went to the bathroom.
